My career as an attorney began in New York City, where I practiced law at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, and then at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP. While at these firms, I represented businesses and individual clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including breach of contract, employment, civil rights, real estate, software licensing, civil fraud, antitrust, negligence, and professional malpractice lawsuits. I also represented defendants in a variety of criminal investigations, prosecutions, and appeals, including health care fraud, insurance fraud, drug, and weapons cases. My work included cases in federal and state trial courts in New York. I also argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First and Second Departments
I founded Wellner and Associates PLLC in 2012, with offices in Hudson, New York and New York City. Since then, I have represented clients in a variety of matrimonial, business and employment law, real estate law, and estate planning and administration matters. At the beginning of 2023, I moved to my current location and re-named my practice to better reflect the work that I do.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural, Resource, and Managerial Economics from Cornell University in 1996, and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2006. While in law school, I was the Editor in Chief of the Cardozo Law Review, and I received the school's Felix Frankfurter Award for outstanding academic achievement.
We represent clients in the Hudson Valley of New York, most frequently in Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, and Ulster Counties.
